Service Description

Take a private lesson with me at my newly renovated and private studio. We will have the entire studio to ourselves. Clay and tools provided. What to expect: After booking online, I will follow up with you through email or text to plan out what you want to learn. When you arrive for your lesson, tools will be set up for you. You will wedge your own clay. I'll have my own wheel for demonstrations. We throw! Cleanup time is part of the booking so please use time efficiently. The main objective of the lesson is to learn. Pots can only be kept if you book open studio hours to return and finish the project, otherwise pots will be recycled. The reason for this is because the steps to trim, bisque fire, glaze, and then glaze fire, all take time and cannot be done in one sitting. This is the beauty and reality of ceramics and I encourage hand-crafted to truly mean YOUR hand in the process. Pots that are thrown by you should be finished by you, otherwise it wouldn't be your work :) Open Studio slots are $20/hour. Expect trimming and glazing are each scheduled on different days because the pot has to dry and get bisque fired before glazing. You'll be on your own during your open studio slot, so pop in your music/podcast and be in the zone. If you are not comfortable trimming or glazing on your own, you will have to book another private lesson.
