Round porcelain jar with poured translucent glaze. The silicon carbide in the glaze reacted to copper fumes in the atmosphere within the kiln, and despite the kiln being in oxidation, the silicon carbide particles experienced local reduction. This is what causes some variation of color, that may appear smoky or antique. The glaze was poured and then sanded, leading to some varying textures as well. I enjoy the perfectly imperfect surface, it reminds me of some antique qingbai porcelain from historical wood firing kilns.
